Welcome to Happy Place Café, a vibrant and inviting café nestled in the heart of Burlington, Vermont. Located at 101 Main St, this charming spot is more than just a café; it’s a community hub where delicious food, aromatic coffee, and a friendly atmosphere come together to create an unforgettable dining experience.

Stepping into Happy Place Café feels like entering a warm embrace. The cheerful decor, playful atmosphere, and the gentle hum of conversation set the perfect backdrop for both relaxed catch-ups with friends and energetic work sessions. With its ample seating, including cozy corners filled with books and board games, it's no wonder customers say it’s a “chill” spot to spend a few hours.

The café excels in its culinary offerings, with a diverse menu that caters to various tastes throughout the day. Start your morning off with their Southern Breakfast Poutine, a comforting mound of crispy home fries, melted cheese curds, and savory sausage gravy, all crowned with two perfectly over-easy eggs. Or indulge in The GOAT—a flavorful combination of scrambled eggs, crispy bacon bits, and creamy lemon goat cheese spread on a toasted brioche bun, creating a breakfast sandwich that will make your taste buds sing.

For lunch, the café doesn’t skimp on flavor or creativity. Try the Chicken Shawarma Wrap, bursting with authentic shawarma chicken, pickled turnips, and a drizzle of Jomana’s garlic sauce, all enveloped in a grilled Lebanese pita. Alternatively, you won’t want to miss the Arabic Breakfast Platter, a colorful spread of housemade hummus, baba ghanoush, and a zaatar cheesy omelette that brings the vibrant flavors of the Middle East right to your table.

The coffee selection at Happy Place Café is equally impressive. Customers rave about the coffee drinks, like the standout cappuccino that has been hailed as “the best in ages.” Each sip is crafted to perfection, showcasing the skill and dedication of the baristas. Many patrons, like Sandi Omanovic, appreciate not just the stellar coffee but also the feeling of community fostered within its walls: “a fun mix of regulars and people stopping in” that creates a welcoming environment for all.

Happy Place Café also pride itself on being family-friendly. Young visitors will find an array of activities tailored to keep them engaged, making it a perfect place for parents to relax while their kids explore. As Alexandria Yurosko puts it, “the atmosphere was cheerful and fun”—a sentiment echoed by many who visit.

In summary, whether you’re looking for a comforting breakfast, a flavorful lunch, or simply a cozy spot to sip on top-notch coffee, Happy Place Café promises a delightful experience. Don’t miss out on this Burlington gem where delicious food meets a vibrant, welcoming community.

I love this place! Lattes are good, breakfast sandwich is yum (also good), and the vibe is so chill. I wish my girlfriend and I were pregnant, we'd name them "Happy" after our favorite cafe!

Nice selection of cafe drinks and breakfast menu was creative. I enjoyed everything I ordered and thought the atmosphere was cheerful and fun (the name fits!) Lots of outlets and wifi for working, and cute assortment of books, board games and a few little kids activities which I always appreciate. Will be back!

Friendly staff. Fun mix of regulars and people stopping in. Coffee drinks are top notch and and plenty of good food options. Nice that you don't often have to fight through a crowd to find a place sit. Not cramped or overly loud.

Best cappuccino I’ve had in ages! Seriously, it was absolutely delicious. Best experience - walked in to get breakfast on Black Friday, kitchen was closed but we decided to sit at the bar and have a cappuccino. It was perfection. Such a cool place to sit and chill on a wintry day. Thanks, Happy Place Cafe - I you.

The Happy Place Cafe is the sister brand to the Vermont Comedy Club and I was very impressed with both their coffee and their food. I ordered a chicken panini that had mozzarella pickled red onions and a red pepper aioli. Everything was well balanced both flavor wise and structurally. The side options were fries, sweet potato fries, chips or salad. Fries were perfectly salted, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The ambiance is relaxing but not stuffy and filled with laptops like most coffee shops. It’s a great place to hang out and I couldn’t recommend it more.

I come here daily because the staff are incredible, the food is top notch, and the coffee unbeatable. Lots of options for vegetarians, vegans, and meat lovers alike. I get the breakfast sandwich nearly every time and the bun it comes on alone is worth it. My personal favorite drink is the maple latte, both hot or iced, depending on how I’m feeling that day. They also have fresh, locally-made donuts on the weekends that are out of this world. Best of all, it’s at the comedy club so you can talk to the staff about the upcoming shows, buy tickets, or just flip through a book or graphic novel from their little library. It’s cozy, welcoming, and just the best place in town. Plus they treat my pup like the queen she is (photo evidence below)
